The excursion begins with pick-up from your accommodation around 8:00 AM. We start the ascent into the High Atlas Mountains along a winding road that reveals traditional Berber villages and panoramic views before reaching the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), the highest mountain pass in the region.

After crossing the Atlas, the landscape changes dramatically into the pre-desert scenery of southern Morocco, with mud-brick kasbahs, adobe houses, and fertile valleys announcing the approach to Ouarzazate.

We arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Desert, where we will visit the historic Kasbah Taourirt, the former residence of the powerful Pacha El Glaoui. We continue to the iconic Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its earthen architecture and for being the setting of films such as Gladiator and Prince of Persia.

In the afternoon, we begin the return journey to Marrakech, crossing the mountains once again and arriving at your accommodation at nightfall, bringing this intense day to an end.

Do I need to bring any special clothes? What do you recommend?

Comfortable footwear for walking (especially in Ait Ben Haddou, there are uphill paths)

Both are private. Only you, your family, or your group travel. There are no other travelers in the vehicle. The driver-guide is at your disposal throughout the entire day.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Excursions take place except in extreme conditions. Light rain does not prevent enjoying the landscape (the snowy Atlas is spectacular). If there is a weather alert, we will contact you to reschedule or cancel at no cost.
